Abstract
InfoSleuth was a large research project at MCC, whose objectives was
to develop industry-supported framework for multi-agent technologies.
InfoSleuth provides concept-based access to data and services in a
continuously changing environment, focusing on just-in-time delivery
of information and alerts at an appropriate level of abstraction.
Interoperating agents advertise their information gathering,
monitoring and processing capabilities, thus enabling dynamic
composition of agent ensembles based on application needs. In this
talk we will present the architecture of the system, review some of
its applications, and discuss the prototype implementation based on
reusable architectural metaphors. We will conclude with the
discussion of general characteristics of agent-based systems,
including their advantages and potential problems.
