Abstract

The Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) is the leading Austrian
research institution in the area of advanced reserach on integrated,
interdisciplinary software solutions. It offers a wide spectrum of
competence; software technology, database technology, knowledge-based
technology, symbolic computation, and numeric computation. The main goal
of the SCCH is to be a mediater between science and industry, which we
achieve through a large network of academic and industrial partners.
In this presention we give first a general introduction to the SCCH:
its mission, organization, partners, staff, and research focus.
In the second part of the talk we provide some examples of currently
active reserach projects. Finally, we introduce the strategic theme for
our future reseach. Ubiquitous Business - the vision of the information
access. Ubiquitous business will make it possible that one can perform
business transactions anytime from anyplace. To achieve this goal a
holistic approach is necessary, which integrate numerous key technologies
such as spontaneous networking, human language technology, personalization,
or security.

Computation, Johannes Kepler University of Linz and Associate Professor
